…..asked many locals as the naked (top right) van cruised past. We are delighted with our new van graphics and are can now reveal – it’s us, The Shetland Times!!

Promoting our core business of design & print, weekly printed newspaper, monthly magazine and online news portal, we hope our eye-catching graphics (and van colour) get more potential customers talking. And talking to us about utilising all our products and services.

The newspaper brand is very well known but can sometimes lead to our other products and services being overshadowed. The van graphics are to remind all potential clients that our design team and print factory facilities (we have the only commercial print presses on the island) are available to them.

Well designed promotional print products still pack a mighty punch, have an enviable reach and provide great ROI. In this age of multimedia marketing and communication, print retains a number of unique qualities that grab the attention of consumers. By integrating print and online services, we help manage and provide our customers with highly effective cross media packages that can include online advertising, videos and podcast promotions.

We foresee our latest weapon, the green machine, will help us get this message across.

Another packed annual full of patterns, essays from designers and authors as well as information on Shetland’s cultural heritage that past participants of the event have been asking for makes up this third edition.

To enhance the tactile nature and quality of the annual, the cover is now matt laminated which also offers a higher degree of protection too. We’re sure all knitters will want this edition in their collection to help see them through the forthcoming winter nights and see them through the the next Shetland Wool Week in 2018.

Nominated for a Saltire Society Literary Award in the “History book of the Year” 2016 category, key themes within the book focus on how the effects of the war on Shetland were determined by the islands location and how Shetlanders related the war to their local community as well as to themselves and their families. Shetland, the “Old Rock”, had a deep emotional meaning for them.

Have you seen the latest Shetland Recreational Trust annual report?

It looks fantastic with the four cover images having been “spot UV varnished” to make the pictures pop out. This type of specialist finish also increases the tactile nature of the reading experience too. The inner pages have been designed to pull through the angled boxes on the cover and we’ve had excellent feedback from our client.

If you want your next publication or promotional project to include an element that makes it stand out from the crowd, give us a call. We will provide suggestions and design ideas to incorporate into your printed material that will make it more attractive, memorable and get noticed.

Contact us by dropping in along, calling us on 01595 742000 or by e-mail, printing@shetlandtimes.co.uk. We look forward to your call.

We’ve just delivered an order for promotional flyers to a new local tour business operating out of Lerwick Harbour and we wish them well for the forthcoming seasons.

Shetland Seabird Tours flyer also includes a new highly tactile finish that we now offer which provides a little extra protection from any drizzly weather or splashes. The “soft touch” lamination will allow any light moisture to be wiped off but also adds a luxurious finish that will stimulate the senses! As the name suggests, there is a smooth yet soft feel to the finish which, in our experience to date, is always commented upon in a positive fashion by the leaflet reader!

If you think your business stationery or promotional material would benefit from this finish give us a call and we can let you experience “soft touch” before placing your next order. Drop in along and see the range of samples available at our Gremista factory.

Full of interesting facts and figures it will be of great interest to anyone within the fishing industry in general.

The choice of font our design team have used on the front cover along with a carefully chosen image already sets the scene before readers’ turn the first page. Enjoy the read!
