We’ve been pleased to work with Morrison Construction to keep the Shetland community up to date with progress on the construction of the new Anderson High School and associated accommodation block in Lerwick.

On the last Friday of every month we product a newsletter which is designed, printed and distributed as an insert within The Shetland Times newspaper to ensure it reaches the majority or the Shetland public, informing them of the latest phase of construction, what’s due to happen next, as well as introducing them to some of the key employees involved in the project.

Having recently produced “Issue 16” we have approximately six issues left to run before the school is due to be finished. We hope all goes well over the next few months and that the school remains on track to be completed on schedule.

If you want to keep your customers or the Shetland community up to date with the latest news from your company call us to discuss how we can help you raise awareness and engagement through the power of print and our unique distribution services.

We recently received a request to design and provide Ocean Kinetics with a variety of promotional material to showcase their services.

The meeting with their team allowed us the opportunity to offer them one of the new products from our range, digitally embossed business cards with soft touch lamination, alongside a pull up banner and promotional flyers.

If you are looking for continuity to help identify and run throughout your full corporate promotional range please give us a call. Whatever you need designed and printed to help get your business noticed, we are happy to assist.

We were very pleased to receive the following testimonial:

I can’t recommend The Shetland Times enough – they provide a professional, cost effective service in a time frame that many other printing providers could not match.
The Shetland Times staff are on hand at every step to help and offer advice and were more than happy to assist with any and all of our last minute changes.
Our business cards, promotional flyers and banner were all delivered ahead of schedule and we were very happy with our final products.
We will definitely be using The Shetland Times for our future projects.

We’ve just delivered an order for promotional flyers to a new local tour business operating out of Lerwick Harbour and we wish them well for the forthcoming seasons.

Shetland Seabird Tours flyer also includes a new highly tactile finish that we now offer which provides a little extra protection from any drizzly weather or splashes. The “soft touch” lamination will allow any light moisture to be wiped off but also adds a luxurious finish that will stimulate the senses! As the name suggests, there is a smooth yet soft feel to the finish which, in our experience to date, is always commented upon in a positive fashion by the leaflet reader!

If you think your business stationery or promotional material would benefit from this finish give us a call and we can let you experience “soft touch” before placing your next order. Drop in along and see the range of samples available at our Gremista factory.

Shared production and distribution costs provide excellent value for money as well as the leaflet showcases the products and services…..

It’s time for our Summer Motoring leaflet! Having a few days of nice weather perhaps doesn’t justify calling it summer just yet but it’s easy to justify why readers should shop locally for all their motoring needs as our participating businesses have some great products and services on offer.

Get in touch with them and get great advice and deals.

Distributed as an insert in The Shetland Times newspaper throughout Shetland using our “town and country” option (8400 copies) all participating businesses get the added bonus of access to our 18,360 AIR readership figure (number of adults over the age of 15 in Shetland who read our title).

If you would like to get included  in the next Summer (or Winter) edition of this promotional leaflet give us a call on 01595 742000 or contact us at printing@shetlandtimes.co.uk. The leaflet provides excellent value for money to our clients as we split production and distribution cost equally between participating businesses which makes this a very attractive marketing option.

ADD PRINT, ADD POWER to your promotions.

There are as many benefits to print, perhaps the most important is tangibility and the fact readers have made a conscious decision to put time aside to read without any distractions. With all good publications there’s also a feeling of substance, of stimulating the senses, taking the reader further down the “path to purchase” – that’s always a good route!!

Customer Feedback: The initial leaflet was designed by us, printed in English only and proved very successful. Positive feedback from our customer and their consumer facilitated further editions being printed in German and Italian, establishing that this project continues to achieve its objectives.

Size: Usability was key to the choice of format and our 12pp, A5 fold out option allowed us to split the leaflet’s informative text into relevant sections whilst at the same time provide a large, easy to read location map.

Our Recommendation: 12pp, A5 fold out is a very flexible format and we suggest calling in to discuss design and layouts prior to starting your project.

Materials: 75% recycled, 150gsm silk was the preferred choice. Less reflective than gloss, this paper suited our client’s needs and the recycled element was chosen to emphasise their environmental credentials having achieved certification to the BS EN ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standard in 2008.

Our Recommendation: Recycled papers benefit the environment and currently do not add significantly to the cost of production.

Printing: Full colour throughout – this allowed us to highlight key elements within the map artwork as well as accentuate the main information points and imagery within the leaflet.

Our Recommendation: Print this type of project in full colour as it provides a much better “reading experience” for the end user.

Finishing: The 12pp, A5 format provides a practical, storable and useable leaflet. It folds out to produce an A3 sheet which is easy to handle.

Our Top Tip:  Call us to discuss the most suitable layout and design that will provide maximum impact as well as promote your product/service and inform your clients BEFORE any work begins on the artwork.
