We’re happy to announce we have finished production of the latest book for Shetland Heritage Publications – The Cod Hunters.
This is no dry history of boats and fishing – it is a story about ordinary people who did extraordinary things.
From the remote fjords of west Greenland to the elegant dining tables of nineteenth century London, from the fishing banks off Faroe to the best restaurants in the Basque country, from the taverns of Torshavn to the prison cells of Lerwick, Shetland, this book covers it all alongside stories of Shetlanders who fished for cod around Faroe, Rockall, Iceland and Greenland.
We’ve produced paperback and beautiful limited case bound editions of this book. The Cod Hunters will be available from our bookshop, https://shop.shetlandtimes.co.uk/ from 11th May 2018.
